all that remains unseen... unspoken.

In the mid-90's, when I was in art school for the second time, I drew a series of telephone poles. Their wires cut out spaces through the air. Their silent totem quality, standing slightly modified behind every dwelling. Stoically providing the magic of communication, connection.

Flash forward almost 20 years and down a surprisingly different path, I still love considering telephone poles. Objects similar to each other, yet different. Sometimes strongly connected to one another, sometimes literally only by a thin wire. A beautiful illustration of the complexities of being in community.

I work with people who want to move from emotional pain, conflict or confusion toward more happiness, peace and passion in their life, work, and relationships. Together, we'll learn to observe repeating life patterns and examine how the past might be influencing your present and future. Our work together can also help you discover and strengthen the creative, emotional, and intuitive resources that can lead you toward more passionate, fulfilling life.

My training consists of primarily working with individuals using psychodynamic psychotherapy (revealing the unconscious), attachment theory (the dynamics of long-term relationships), and object-relations models (how relationships are affected by early experiences). Potential change comes through examining your individual history, current experiences, and our evolving patient-therapist relationship.
Areas of experience include working with individuals on:
  • relationship / family / friendship / co-worker issues
  • divorce, dating, and adult singlehood challenges
  • race and racial identity
  • lesbian, gay and transgender issues
  • nourishing the creative soul
  • images, dreams, archetypes, and personal mythology
